Unlike consumer cards, the L40S is a passive-cooled server GPU — it relies on your chassis fans for front-to-back airflow, which makes it ideal for multi-GPU servers and dense 2U/4U deployments. Dual-slot width keeps per-GPU footprint low; stack multiple cards behind NVIDIA-certified platforms for scalable inference capacity. Plan ~600W per card with appropriate PCIe auxiliary power and chassis airflow.
